Did you know that Trevor Mattlow was experimenting with two different flavours at the time and by complete accident he found that by mixing milk and raspberry, the most mouth watering flavour was discovered, so in 1957 the famous drumstick lolly was procreated.
Lets go back even further in time!!
One of the oldest half penny chewy sweets that most people can remember, is the famous Black Jack!
A chewy mouth workout, with an aniseed flavour.
This sweet dates back to around the 1920s, now to date, it is on it's third wrapping.
Unbelievably, the first was a picture of a old age doll (Never to be seen today)!
Rightly so, this was changed due to this being highly offensive and racist.
This was replaced by a picture of a pirate in the 1980s..
Until 2008, a confectionary company called Tangerine bought out Trebor, With this they decided to change the design once more, to its now current black and white packaging with red writing.
Many adults love the flavour, with children being fascinated with the colour change to there tounges.
